KENGIC Empowers Global Home Furnishing Leader with Advanced Automated Warehouse in Hangzhou, China

Release time:2026-05-08 Browse:7

Hangzhou, China – Following the successful delivery of the Hebei smart warehousing project, KENGIC, the world’s leading end-to-end intelligent & digital solution provider for logistics and manufacturing, has once again partnered with a leading global home furnishing giant to complete the AS/RS project in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. This project stands as a benchmark for deepened cooperation, marking a new era of intelligent and specialized supply chain management for the client.

As a dominant force in the upholstered furniture sector, the client operates a vast network of over 6,000 brand stores across 100+ countries and regions. Such a massive global footprint demands an exceptionally robust and precise logistics infrastructure. The new Hangzhou facility is the group’s first automated warehouse dedicated specifically to "integrated products"—including marble slabs, sintered stone, dining tables, chairs, TV cabinets, etc.

Overcoming the Challenges of Non-Standard Logistics
Storing and handling home furnishing accessories presents unique difficulties. Unlike standardized consumer goods, these products are characterized by irregular dimensions, low standardization, and high fragility. Traditional manual warehouses often face intense labor requirements, low space utilization, high error rates, and significant risks of material damage or safety incidents during the handling of bulky items.

Innovative Technology Integration

To address these pain points, KENGIC deployed a high-density storage and retrieval solution. The facility features 7 pallet four-way shuttles for flexible, high-density buffering and 13 high-speed stacker cranes (SRM) managing over 13,000 storage slots.

At the heart of the operation is a sophisticated software suite. KENGIC’s WMS (Warehouse Management System), WCS (Warehouse Control System), and Digital Twin system are fully integrated with the client’s ERP. This creates a "transparent warehouse" where data, business processes, and potential faults are fully visualized. The system ensures seamless data flow from production entry to storage management and final dispatch.

To tackle the complexities of fluctuating order volumes and diverse SKU types, KENGIC implemented lean improvements and technical breakthroughs. By setting up multiple backup and fault-tolerance mechanisms, the whole KENGIC system ensures that a single point of failure does not disrupt overall operations, significantly mitigating technical risks.

Quantifiable Operational Excellence
The implementation of the Jiangdong project has delivered transformative results:

  • Space Utilization: Compared to traditional manual warehouses, storage capacity has increased by over 300%.

  • Labor Efficiency: Human labor requirements have been slashed by more than 90%.

  • High Automation: Through the integration of conveyors, RGVs, stacker cranes, and gantry robots, the warehouse achieves an automation rate of over 90% across all stages.

  • Extreme Accuracy: The WMS system has pushed inventory accuracy to a remarkable 99.99%.

The successful launch of this project significantly enhances the client’s logistics responsiveness and management precision for integrated products. It reinforces the supply chain foundation necessary for the brand’s continued global expansion, proving that intelligent automation is the key to mastering the complexities of the modern home furnishing industry.
